A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – Someone commented on Medium that there is “no hard evidence” on the historicity of the Bible. I responded that Josephus and other extra-Biblical primary sources offer independent documentation on the people, places and events written about in the Bible. Further, there have been numerous archeological confirmations regarding the Biblical accuracy of existing towns and events. However, I also offered the underlying point that this reader was ultimately correct; without faith the Biblical text is fiction. As with so many contemporary issues, people believe what they want to believe.
Hebrews 11:6 – And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Romans 10:17 – So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
2 Timothy 4:3 – For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,
