Providing insight on the intersection of contemporary issues and theology, based on a Biblical Christian Worldview.

“But at my core I’m a missionary and an evangelist.“

The core message of an evangelist is more important than arguing about the finer points of the Bible.

Quote Source – JD Greer

A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – Greer’s point from the quote above was that we sometimes have to set aside the differences we have with those who don’t know Christ in order to keep the main thing the main thing (the core of evangelism).

In the book of John, chapter four, Jesus was talking to a Samaritan woman about eternal life. She responded with a critical view of Jews blocking Samaritans from worshiping in Jerusalem. Rather than digging into the weeds of a fruitless issue, Christ answered from an eternal perspective by saying,

John 4:21,23 – Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father… But the hour is coming, and is now here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.

As Christians, we can get tangled up defending God’s position on abortion, marriage, or numerous other hot-button issues. Instead… be a missionary of the Good News rather than a defender of secondary theological viewpoints when talking to seekers about the faith that has saved you for eternity.
