“Reject legalism on Sunday mornings.”

We need to be all things to all people in order to save some.

Two leather-clad bikers sat on their Harleys outside a church one Sunday morning, and the congregation's response revealed something uncomfortable about fear, prejudice, and who the gospel is actually for.

A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – Some time ago our church had two Hell’s Angel types (in full leather dress w/Harley’s) sitting on their bikes in the church’s driveway, early on a Sunday morning. Where they were located (pretending to be asleep sitting on their bikes) was a relatively long walk from the parking lot, but a place where everyone had to pass them.

A few of us (myself NOT included) went over to talk with them and invited them to church. They came… Near the end of the service, the couple went up front and spoke… It was a test (initiated by the pastor) of the congregation to see how open we were to setting aside fear and prejudice for the good of the gospel. Paul wrote…

1 Corinthians 9:22 – To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.

Legalism only drives seekers away. What would your church do today if the same scenario was tested?
