A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – This is what Christians are criticized for today.
Jesus and the apostles who followed desired people to follow Christ’s view of right and wrong. In the synagogues and on the streets, they preached a theology that was totally out of line with the Gentiles, much less the Jews. Ultimately that conflict resulted in His death.
Today, criticism of Christians comes from a seeming lack of love commanded in verses such as Luke 10:27, referred to as the greatest commandment. Many unbelievers miss the point that Biblical Christians are to love God first (“love the Lord your God”). As controversial as it may be, this love is to be demonstrated by following God’s commands, to preach His truth, even in the face of opposition, just as what was done in the 1st century, just as Jesus did and taught His disciples to do.
Today, as in the time of Jesus and following, many Christians are persecuted for the stance they take… loving God and loving mankind but refusing to ignore sin when pressed to acknowledge it.
