Providing straightforward analysis on the intersection of contemporary issues and theology, based on a Biblical Christian Worldview.

“In ‘pressing on toward the goal’ we need to recognize when we will reach it.”

It will not be achieved in this life, but in Heaven.

Quote Source – Jeff Hilles

A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – Pressing on toward the goal is an indication of our need to reach out to God. However, as Biblical Christians we also need to recognize that with our continuing sin nature, actually reaching that goal is not obtainable in this life.

Philippians 3:14 – I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

We need to stretch to our full potential, in alignment with the will of God, but recognize there will be disappointments along the way. The process of drawing close to our Lord (sanctification) is not a linear path, but full of ups and downs representing our day-to-day struggles. The “prize” will not come in this life, but the next.

Hebrews 12:1 – Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
