Below are some interesting observations for those who have an underpinning in Biblical Christian theology … and a healthy (or unhealthy) bit of sanctified imagination. Let me begin as I always do by stating that I am NOT a Trump fan and did not vote for him in the last election. Having said that, there is no question (in my opinion) that he is demonstrating some positive changes in America … but the end goal of his efforts is yet to be confirmed. Below are some examples of his initiatives that would seem positive on the surface, but certainly fascinating from an end-times Christian perspective.
The Inauguration of Trump
It was interesting to note that the timing was unfortunately out of sync between Justice Roberts, Melania, and President Trump in that he did not place his hand on his grandmother’s Bible as was planned (details here). However, his powerful address that followed did emphasize the new “golden age of America that begins right now.” He went on to say that he “felt then, and I believe even more so now, that my life was saved by God to make America great again.”
Golden Age
It seems one of the rising phrases in our word bank these days is the entrance of a “Golden Age” in America. In fact, the term has recently been broadened to encapsulate the whole world. On January 24, 2025, the US Government released a report entitled, “The First 100 Hours: Historic Actions to Kick Off America’s Golden Age.” From an historical perspective, the term comes from Greek mythology and describes a decline from a “Golden Age” down through five stages to an “Iron Age.” There is also a reference in the Bible to a decreasing process, beginning with gold and ending in iron and clay (Daniel 2:31-45).
Faith Office
The President has reestablished the White House Faith Office, putting Florida female pastor Paula White-Cain in charge. The expressed intent of the revitalized department is to protect the religious freedoms of all denominations. Pastor Cain is a televangelist and leader of the Independent Charismatic movement, “a proponent of prosperity theology,” according to Wikipedia. Her named deputy assistant in the renewed Faith Office is Jennifer S. Korn, former Deputy Director of the White House Public Liaison and, before that, she managed local, state, and federal republican campaigns in California for 10 years. Her religious affiliations are unknown.
Trump Assassination Attempts
The first attempt grazed his ear, killing Corey Comperatore instead. Had Trump not moved his head to discuss a chart, the bullet would have likely killed him. With blood splattered across his face, Trump arose with his arm in the air, yelling the words “Fight!, Fight!, Fight!” in defiance of the close call. The second known attempt was less dramatic, however, an equally close call, catching Ryan Routh in the bushes with a rifle, waiting for Trump to work his way through the course at the Trump International Golf Club. It would certainly seem as if the supernatural was watching over our President in order that he is able to complete his destiny.
Treaties
What is of much more interest from a Biblical perspective than progress with the Russian/Ukrainian war is what is taking place in Gaza: a peace treaty involving Israel and its adversaries. This broader conflict includes Lebanon, Afghanistan, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, and the underlying dominance of Iran. Most pundits are very optimistic that Trump will be a catalyst for establishing a peace treaty throughout the region, dismantling Hamas, Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram, Al-Shabab, Taliban, etc. If successful, final peace in this part of the world would be a truly historic event. However, adding to the risks and complexity is Trump’s unwavering commitment to a non-nuclear Iran and the cost of rebuilding Gaza, while separating the Palestinians from Hamas. It remains to be seen how this end goal will play out without continued and perhaps broadening wars in this Biblical hot spot.
Colonialism
Of course, no one thinks Trump is sincere in his bombastic statements on taking over the Panama Canal, Canada, Gaza, or Greenland. It is just rhetoric to produce intended compromising actions. However, one never knows to what extent other countries are willing to go to have the protection of the USA if war breaks out in Europe or the Middle-East. One strong leader, with the greatest military force on the planet, offers a great deal of assurance (especially if one adds influential control of NATO into the mix) when confronted with the possibility of being overrun by overtly (as opposed to covertly) totalitarian regimes.
Artificial Intelligence
Clearly, if America falls behind in AI development, China will take the lead, and that would be a disaster. In order to ensure that doesn’t happen, Trump is directing major investments in AI data centers. Of course, these facilities, spread all over the country, will need to have their own independent power sources in order to protect them should something happen to the power grid. Ultimately, AI will be ubiquitous and fully integrated with databases, cameras, and military command and control centers as the best and fastest way to protect America … and the world, likely as part of Trump’s “Iron Dome” initiative. One can only wonder how the centralization of such potential intrusions into personal freedoms will be balanced against the gains in the speed of military and social responses in times of crisis. AI, among all other aspects of our changing culture, holds the greatest benefit and threat to humanity (details here).
Cryptocurrency
Trump is not only an advocate of crypto as a replacement for traditional capital, he actually has established his own $TRUMP cryptocurrency. His new “token has soared to more than $10 billion in market value.” It is certainly possible that crypto will become established as a more safe and manageable means of conducting international business, processed through AI data centers currently being constructed.
Bringing Government Systems Online
As DOGE continues to overturn corruption, fraud, and inefficiency in our government systems, we can expect computerized automation of many aspects of the current bureaucracy. Bringing all these antiquated processes under electronic management will significantly reduce labor costs, provide interconnectability, and more unbiased and routine government oversight.
Trump and Christianity
President Trump has always been an outspoken advocate of Christianity even though his wording sometimes suggests otherwise (details here). He even published his own Bible after all (details here). Certainly a soft Christian worldview would be a good place to stand as he broadens his appeal outward from America. Ecumenical, much less universalistic, “religion” is thriving throughout the world these days (details here). It would seem a perfect fit for a popularist to gain an edge.
2 Timothy 3:2-5 – For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
