A brief Excerpt: Today, as in the Bible Christians need to stand for what we believe in regardless of the labels put on us.

Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – So many today are critical of Christians for trying to inject our Biblical Christian worldview into America. We are called Christian nationalists at best and “Christofascist Dominionists” at worst. However, if one reads the Bible, it was clear that Jesus, his disciples and, especially Paul, were confronting the status quo with a much higher level of disruption than Christians of today.

A more balanced view on the subject of how far Christians should go in trying to inject Godly moral values into our country can be seen in the difference between the definition of Christian Nationalism and Patriotism (details here). Put simply …

“Patriotism is when love of your own people comes first; nationalism, when hate for people other than your own comes first.”

Today we are seeing a resurgence in patriotism in the US. Some see that as a rise of Christian nationalism and condemn it. But many (perhaps most) see it as a return to the values and moral code of our founding fathers who built this nation. If one believes that God has provided an instruction manual for humanity (the Bible), it stands to reason that, as Christians, we vote, we serve, we promote, and we support those values and ideals as we engage with others in our community and, more broadly, in our nation. That is our worldview just as other cultures, countries, and religions have their worldview. To abdicate that right and freedom by disengaging from our collective Christian roots in order to not be labeled as a patriot is to fracture our unity, opening the door to anarchy and the loss of our nation from those who seek to destroy us (China). Forcing our Christian theology on others (nationalism) is not the same thing as operating in unity as a Christian moral force to rebuild our nation (patriotism).
