Woman Still Waiting For Co-Workers

To Ask About Her Faith

Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – At its weakest, lifestyle evangelism can be defined as a Christian who acts as a “good person,” believing that an attitude of moral superiority will encourage others to inquire about her perceived spirituality. The other extreme of lifestyle evangelism is demonstrated by hanging scripture verses on the walls of your home and office cubicle, wearing crosses, and placing fish on the back of your car, expecting it to be a beacon for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with a lost and dying world.

Does any of the above describe Jesus in the context of our contemporary society? Perhaps taking away the pride we Christians can exhibit—yes, it does. However, the point is that lifestyle evangelism does not save anyone. It just makes us feel good about ourselves. Kindness and an advertised Christian worldview is a start, but is not the end of what Christ calls us to do. We need to be seeking conversations through caring relationships, unafraid to include Christ in our conversations while helping others. We know the eternal truth, and we know what it means not to acknowledge that truth prior to death. It’s time we put words and actions to our beliefs rather than waiting for “co-workers to ask about our faith.”
