Theology on the Lighter Side – Why didn’t the skeleton go to heaven? – Because he had no body to go with!
When a born-again believer passes away, they go to Heaven.
2 Corinthians 5:8 - Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
At the Rapture, born-again believers are raised from the dead and meet the Lord in the clouds.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 - For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
So, when does “the ‘skeleton’ go to Heaven?” Is it at our passing on earth, or at the resurrection when Christ returns?
If we have both a soul and a spirit, might that be part of the answer?
