Theology on the Lighter Side – Why did the Israelites wander for 40 years? – Because Moses refused to ask for directions!

Imagine … approximately 2.5 million people wandered in the desert for 40 years on a journey that could have been completed in about eleven days. God was disciplining them for their lack of faith and disobedience. And yet, the Lord provided food and water for the journey.

As Christians today, we are not immune from God’s discipline as well. In fact, He guarantees we will have troubles, (1) from this world, (2) from the evil one, and (3) from His desire to mold and shape us more into His likeness. However, at the end of our time on earth, we will pass from this life to the next with glorified bodies into a place He has prepared for us that is unimaginable (1 Corinthians 2:9).

Romans 8:18 - For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
