Theology on the Lighter Side – What do you call a Bible study with great coffee? – Grounds for discussion!
A typical group Bible study has the following agenda:
- Fellowship, often with snacks (1 John 1:7)
- Prayer (James 5:16)
- Study of God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- Prayer (Colossians 4:2)
- Fellowship (1 John 1:3)
Sounds like an Acts 2 home-church meeting.
Acts 2:42 – And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
Fellowship with other believers, praying for each other’s needs, and studying together God’s love letter to mankind represent the foundation of sanctification as we wait for eternity on the other side of the grave.
