What Are The Deeply Buried Sins In Your Heart…

You Need Jesus To Drop A Bunker Buster On?

Those sins buried deep keep surfacing, and every repeated confession feels heavier than the last. Scripture promises cleansing, yet also warns of judgment, and the tension between the two is where the real battle for the soul is fought.

Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – We all have them … those things we know are wrong and we feel guilty about, yet we continue to do, making excuses after excuses … and asking for forgiveness after forgiveness, knowing on the one hand …

1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Yet, fearful because the Bible also states …

Hebrews 10:26-27 – For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.

Of course, we can see the context of Hebrews as being more of a general rejection of the gospel rather than a continuing, repetitive sin … right? After all, even Paul offered an admission that his continuing sin nature was, to some degree, out of his (not the Holy Spirit’s) control ….

Romans 7:15 – For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.

But, don’t you wish that God would drop a bunker buster bomb on that hidden sin, destroying it as a continuing temptation? Of course, in the real world, there is often collateral damage from such a large explosion. But, in the end, it’s worth it.
