A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – The “scientific method” is defined by Webster as…
“Principles and procedures for the systematic pursuit of knowledge involving the recognition and formulation of a problem, the collection of data through observation and experiment, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses“
One CANNOT view Biblical Christianity solely through the lens of “observation and experiment”, nor can one effectively “test hypotheses” of theology. As with so many of the attempts at merging secular approaches to a supernatural-based belief, one can only go so far. Some believe in miracles, the inerrancy of Scripture, God’s plan of salvation that limits billions from entering Heaven, etc. Others, totally reject these and other Christian doctrine. In the end, our religious worldview comes down to faith not human, provable facts through experiments and the testing of hypotheses.
However, as the Trinity is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13:8), science does plod along, engaging the scientific method as it draws closer and closer to agreeing with the faith-based principals of the divine.
