Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – My take on the matter … There is nothing wrong with using commentaries, listening to Christian podcasts and YouTube videos, and other outside Biblical resources (such as Biblical Christian Worldview). However, the Bible is the best source for the truth about who God is and what Jesus has done for us. Down through the ages man has interpreted the Word of God through the filter of our own bias, lack of context, secular influences, and an overarching sinful nature … this author included.

Trusted outside resources can be helpful but cannot and should never be a replacement for a personal study of our sacred text. To do so is to abdicate our responsibility to have a direct relationship with our Creator to a pastor, a theologian, or simply a writer with an opinion. Trust the source, the inerrant Word of God, over all others.
