Waiting on God is a topic that often goes unaddressed, but should be embraced more fully.
At some point in our lives, we all find ourselves praying or seeking something — a new job, a baby, a spouse, a promotion, healing, deliverance, or countless other desires. You may have poured your heart into prayer and held onto faith for what feels like an eternity, yet it seems as if there is no answer.
In those moments, it can feel like God is silent and His promises are distant.
But hold on, dear friend; God is faithful, and every moment spent waiting will be worth it. You must trust Him, regardless of the circumstances.
This season of waiting is temporary and will change. Scripture assures us that there will be an end to our trials and that our hopes will not be dashed. Embrace this waiting season as a time of preparation.
I often liken this experience to a pregnant woman who endures nine months of pain and discomfort before finally giving birth. When she hears her baby’s cry, all the struggle fades away, and she rejoices in the moment of fulfillment.
It’s crucial to recognize that she cannot rush the process. She cannot say in the fifth month of her pregnancy , “I am tired and can’t endure any longer; let’s just get the baby out”, it is not possible.
Similarly, we must endure the waiting for what we hope to receive from the Lord, regardless of how long it may take or how uncomfortable it may become. We need to believe that there will come a time when our heartfelt desires will be realized if they fall in line with God’s will.
During this waiting period, there is no need to compare ourselves to others or complain about our circumstances. Instead, view this time as an opportunity to draw closer to God. He has a purpose for everything, and this season can lead to profound growth and healing if we embrace it.
For example, a woman over 35 who is waiting for the husband of her dreams can use this time to enjoy her own company, heal from past traumas, advance in her career, or gain a deeper understanding of marriage.
When her future husband finally arrives, she will be free of any emotional baggage, bringing better peace and understanding into her relationship.
If we shift our perspective on this waiting period, we can reap greater benefits.
Psalm 40:1 reminds us, “I waited patiently for the Lord; He inclined to me and heard my cry.”
None who wait on the Lord will be forsaken. He neither slumbers nor sleeps; He sees all and He is a just God, waiting to elevate you in your situation at His appointed time.
Psalm 25:3a confirms, “Indeed, none who wait for you shall be ashamed.”
Even if it takes forever, keep praying and trusting, He will certainly meets your expectations.
Additionally,
Isaiah 40:31 assures us that “those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength.”
When the pregnant woman finally gives birth, all the pain she endured is forgotten. She feels renewed and excited that what she had hoped for is finally here. The same can be true for all of us. When the Lord finally answers , you will forget the times you were waiting on him. The blessings overwhelm the trials of the past.
The Lord can bless you in seven months with what you have labored and waited for over seven years, allowing you to move past the hardships you once faced.
So, wait on the Lord; it’s all going to be worth it!
He listens and he answers in his own time.
