Mountain Climber Recovering After Decision To Let Go And Let God

We say we trust God, but....

Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – Phrases like “Let go and let God” seem to roll off the tongues of Christians giving advice to their fellow converts. There is even a song by that title from the Love Fellowship Tabernacle. The words are highly repetitive but the substance of the song is …

Stand still and know that He is God
Know that He will never leave your side
He’ll fight your battles if you let Him
He’ll be your refuge; He’ll be your comfort
So you should let go, let God, let go, let God, let go, let God
Let God have His way

Each of the first four verses can be supported by numerous Scriptural references. They repeatedly end in the well-known and repeated … “let go and let God” refrain.

Yet we don’t come close to doing this in our personal lives. As Christians we struggle and wring our hands in concern over the most trivial things. Sadly, our faith is often proven to be smaller than a mustard seed (Matthew 13:31). Yet, even as that is true, we do have a God who walks with us through the valley of death (Psalm 23:4), One who will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) … whether we feel that way or not.
