Local Woman Considers Saying ‘Have A Blessed Day’ Evangelism

What is Christian Evangelism?

Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – What is “Evangelism”?

According to the theology of Webster’s Dictionary… “the winning or revival of personal commitments to Christ”

Evangelism can be defined in many ways. Let me offer three…

Lifestyle Evangelism – living a good moral life as an example to others in the hopes they will see the source of your behavior as the result of the Holy Spirit in your life.

Confrontational Evangelism – pressuring people by directly challenging them to accept Christ or accept the consequences.

Relationship Evangelism – building an honest interest and bond with people so that when they have challenges in their lives, one can offer the hope and faith of Jesus Christ.

Where does “have a blessed day” fit into the three categories above? It depends on what happens next. Is this just a passing statement with no intent other than to feel good about oneself that the word “blessed” was contained in the communication? Or, was it a way to subtly communicate a spiritual foundation that offers future opportunity for further discussion?

Offering one a “blessed day” is Lifestyle evangelism. It will not save anyone but can open doors for the building of a relationship that can blossom into sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It all depends on the intent and the next step(s).
