A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – In this world there is both good (God) and evil (Satan and our sin nature). This reader was suggesting that “sitting at his desk” and “eating a meal” were neither good nor evil… that there are things we do every day that are not part of this black or white worldview of mine.
I disagree in principle.
My response to him was…
“Respectfully, not true. You are sitting at your desk [writing atheistic discourse on Medium.com] challenging a loving God who wants to have a relationship with you. When you eat, you are supplying your body with either good healthy food or poor, unhealthy food. Since our bodies are a repository (or potential repository) for the Holy Spirit, what we put in them can be good or evil.”
The Point
What we communicate to or do for others either builds up the Kingdom of God or detracts from it, admittedly to varying degrees.
1 Corinthians 16:14 – Let all that you do be done in love.
What we put in our mouths either honors God’s handywork (our bodies) or adds to its deteriortion.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
