A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – There have been many throughout history who have been ‘heroes for the faith’, yet showed no sign of salvation. Examples include the Magi seeking Jesus with gifts, Pilate’s wife (Matt. 27:19), the Malta people who helped Paul (Acts 28:2), God raising up Babylon (Hab. 1:5-11), Judas in his betrayal of Jesus, to name a few instances.
Judges 3:12 – And the people of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done what was evil in the sight of the LORD.
God can and does use unbelievers to perfect His will. Because there are, sadly, so many more lost than saved (“enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the way that leads to destruction” Matt. 7:13-14), perhaps the Lord uses the lost more than the saved. This does not change the fact that God loves all of mankind and wishes all to be saved (1 Tim. 2:4). It is merely a disturbing reflection on the reality of this dark world.
