A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – Someone close to me is an alcoholic. They tried to quit many times and failed. In the late 80’s this individual got saved and again tried to stop drinking, but failed again because as a new Christian, there was still a desire to take on the responsibility for success personally. Some years later as a more mature Christian, they turned the desire for daily drinking over to the Lord and has not had a drop since 1994. Our power to change does not come from within ourselves, it comes from a dependence on God through the Holy Spirit.
