We worship God, the Father, on His throne and we pray to His Son, Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. However, have you ever considered that no one ever closes a prayer… “in the Holy Spirit’s name”? There is a reason for that. Our heart may be where the Holy Spirit lives, but sadly when we focus inward we often miss the target of our devotion. As sin-cursed, born-again believers, we need to be careful not to focus on our own sin nature as we try to meditate on the third part of the Trinity, our Counselor, the Holy Spirit.
