“Entering into your heart through meditation is still very important, for that’s where the Savior lives”

Be careful worshiping the Holy Spirit.

A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – The above quote comes from a writer who believes meditation is a way to find God… by looking inward rather than upward.

We worship God, the Father, on His throne and we pray to His Son, Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. However, have you ever considered that no one ever closes a prayer… “in the Holy Spirit’s name”? There is a reason for that. Our heart may be where the Holy Spirit lives, but sadly when we focus inward we often miss the target of our devotion. As sin-cursed, born-again believers, we need to be careful not to focus on our own sin nature as we try to meditate on the third part of the Trinity, our Counselor, the Holy Spirit.

POSTSCRIPT: From a reader for added clarity… “Just wanted to point out that Biblical meditation is a concentration of focusing on what God, Jesus, and the Bible have done for us and is a foundation for thanksgiving, while Eastern religious meditation is an emptying of thought to make room for whatever comes your way, and that without any effort towards discernment…”
