Providing straightforward analysis on the intersection of contemporary issues and theology, based on a Biblical Christian Worldview.

“Christians boast they know God when that is clearly not always the case.”

The sin of Christian pride.

A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – This quote came from a reader, angry with one of my articles focusing on the prideful heart of a Christian. My response…

My spouse and I have lived together for almost 50 years (as husband and wife). I know her very well. However, on occasion, her opinions surprise me. With God, we are trying to understand the Creator of the universe by way of a book of 73k words. He is omniscient and omnipotent and we are prideful opinionated, and often trust only what is observable in the natural world (rejecting the reality of the supernatural). How can one in this state of disarray fully understand God?

We each try to do our best on this side of the grave and, as we do so, we band together and call ourselves a Biblical Christian denomination/church. We continue to be prideful, and opinionated, yet, with the Holy Spirit’s help, try to move along in the process of sanctification. When we fail, which is often our hypocrisy shows through, and though we do “boast” that we know God, we continue to show our humanity as well.
