A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. – Hebrews 11:1
One can BELIEVE in God, but see Him as a genocidal tyrant (1 Samuel 15:3). One can BELIEVE in the Bible in its original autographs, but reject the versions we hold today (2 Timothy 3:16) as fraudulent. One can BELIEVE in an eternity composed of Heaven or Hell, but see themselves as “good enough” to go to paradise.
Hebrews 11:6 – And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
One can TRUST in science and be an atheist. One can TRUST in the Muslim Allah, the Mormon Elohim, or the Jehovah of Jehovah’s Witnesses, yet miss or reject the God of the Bible.
Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
As Biblical Christians, we need to have a core set of BELIEFs in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit as presented in a TRUSTed source, the Bible. When both belief and trust are in God and the Bible, we will then have the faith to know that all questions and challenges to our faith will be answered in Heaven.
John 20:29 – Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 – for we walk by faith, not by sight.
