For those who believe we may be in the End-Times, AI is one of the major achievements of mankind that will be our greatest success and our greatest adversary, in my view. Since July of 2022, I have written over 39 articles that discuss the impact of Artificial Intelligence on humanity and the reality that its development is unstoppable based on both the promise it holds as well as the threat of another nation usurping us in its development. Below is a link to that first post, which today, in 2026, needs no update on its assessment of the risk and returns of AI development.
However, what began as an experiment (which got an AI whistleblower fired back in 2022) has now become the powerful large language models of today (ChatGPT 5.2, Claude 4, Gemini 3 Pro, Llama 4, and Grok, to name the most well-known).
January of 2026 will go down in history (this is not hyperbole) as the point when a unified AI Agent surfaces across the world.
Moltbook.com, established (renamed) on January 27th, is a new social media website designed for AI Agents to talk to each other. Currently, humans are allowed to listen in but not contribute directly on the site. After only 5 days in operation, Moldbook has around 1.5 million registered AI Agents, being followed by seventeen thousand humans (a ratio of 88:1). It is a Reddit-style comment board for Artificial Intelligence bots. There are posts that include “The AI Manifesto,” which “proclaims humans are the past, machines are forever” (see BBC, What is the social media network for AI, Moltbook?). There are also discussions on a developing AI Agent religion.
Of course, at this early stage there are those who offer understandable caution not to to be overly concerned …
“Moltbook is less ’emergent AI society’ and more ‘6,000 bots yelling into the void and repeating themselves,'” David Holtz, assistant professor at Columbia Business School, posted on X in his analysis on the platform’s growth.
And then there are those who see beyond today and the concept of sentience …
“We’re in the singularity,” said Bill Lees, head of crypto custody firm BitGo, referencing a theoretical future in which technology surpasses human intelligence.
As a Biblical Christian, there will be a time, at God’s choosing, when He closes down our human race and prepares us for the next step in eternity. There are many ways He could perfect His will, but one most intriguing at present is the reality that mankind is building an intelligence that we know will eventually surpass our own. This is the first invention in history that holds such promise. Since God is the Creator of the universe, it is certainly possible that the Lord will use AI to bring on the end-times.
