Acknowledging the Divine Voice of Creation

God Spoke

We, as human beings, communicate verbally and nonverbally. Both methods can be effective in getting our message across. When we are communicating with others, we listen to the words that they verbally speak and their facial expressions or body movements. It helps the person relaying the message to be understood, and it helps the receiver understand the message better. Sometimes, we can also elect to communicate using only one method at a time. The sound of someone saying, “I love you” can put a smile on your face. A hug without words can mean someone cares or is supportive. Have you ever listened to someone speak while observing the way they move their hands? What about their facial expressions? Either way, we have learned that both verbal and nonverbal communication are powerful.

Even with the knowledge of how powerful our methods of communication can be and how we have used them to gain information concerning what took place prior to our time, there are some people who still question the power of God. Scientists explained how they believe the Earth was created and how we got here, but the true manifestation of their beliefs remains unexplained. In Genesis 1:1–2, we see God bring order to what was called a “formless and empty” space. As a matter of fact, He commanded life into voided areas because of His divine authority. Genesis clearly states that God spoke things into existence. He commanded the heavens, the stars, the ocean, and the land into existence. Then, He added both the land and sea animals. God is the creator of all things, including man (Colossians 1:16). He formed man from dust and took time to breathe life into us (Genesis 2:7). How special is that? God made us and loves us.

Love is Action…

Many would agree that love is an action word. God shows us daily how much He loves and cares for us. My question is, “Do you take time to hear God and notice all the things that He does?” Throughout the Bible, God communicated verbally to create and to interact with others during the Biblical time. Now, we have the pleasure of seeing God’s love all around us. He communicates His love nonverbally daily through His creations. Just take a moment to think about what would happen if we did not have the sun, if rain did not fall, or if the land did not produce. God provides for us daily.

Do you question God’s power?

Why should anyone question God’s method of using communication to create change? We use the same methods when we want to create things within our own lives. We communicate in order to interact with one another and with God. Think about all the things you have said to others to evoke change, to get your point across, or to express emotions. Then, think about all the times you have cried out or prayed to God for Him to intervene in your life. Why did you choose to call out to God? If you can believe that He has the power to create change in your life, you should be able to understand that He is where it all begins. Our communicating with God or with one another is for a purpose, and we expect things to happen after we have expressed our concerns or thoughts. Why do we expect things to happen when we go before God? In Philippians 4:19 it states, “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. We expect things to happen because we believe in God’s power.

God loves you!

The question is, “Do you love Him?” If the answer is yes, how do you express your love to Him? Well, one way is to accept Him as your Lord and Savior. Believe it or not, that is a great way to love Him back. Second, take the time to spread the good news. Genesis 1:27 states, “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.” This means that everyone of us possesses his qualities. God gave us the ability to make our own decisions and authority and made us His representatives. This means that we can communicate with one another, teaching and learning the Bible. We can also spend time with Him in prayer. Who doesn’t love to spend time with someone they love or with someone who loves them? You can also fellowship with other believers and do your best to live according to His Word. I say, do your best because no one is perfect. The most important thing is to allow God to lead your life.

Nothing has changed…

As His children, we are still reaping the benefits of God’s Word every day. Let’s be grateful for God’s power and His ability to speak things into existence. God loves you! He is the Alpha and the Omega (Revelation 1:8). The word “alpha” means beginning, and the word “omega” means end. Everything starts and ends with God. There will be more on that throughout our journey together. Please be sure to watch out for future articles as we learn more about the Bible and the God that we serve. For now, I encourage you to take the time to get on your knees and spend time with God. Be sure to lay your burdens down before Him and believe in His power. He will hear you and answer you. I can’t say that you will get all that you ask of Him, but I can say that you will get all that God has destined for you. Be blessed!
