— Mission Statement —
Providing insight on the intersection of contemporary issues and theology, based on a Biblical Christian Worldview.

A man walked into a Baptist church and asked, “Is this seat saved?”

The usher replied, “Not yet, but we’re praying for it.”

Theology on the Lighter Side – The most important decision one will ever make in this life is what to do about God. Is He real? Was He the creator of the universe, or did we come about through evolution, as taught in school?

If one believes there is a God, then the question becomes, did He create and then just let humanity play out without further input, or is He active in our daily lives?

If one believes God is active in our daily lives, then the question becomes, which god, the God of the Bible, or the god of Islam, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, gods of Hindus, Buddhists, or hundreds of other false teachings?

If one believes in the God of the Bible, then do they accept the Bible as God’s written love letter to mankind, or some amalgam of human writers with their own agenda based on social norms and personal preferences?

Finally, if one believes in God as the Author and protector of Scripture down through the ages, then are they willing to submissively read and accept what He has to say about how to spend eternity in Heaven (i.e., to be saved or born-again)?

If so, then evangelism has a chance, either through the love of other believers sharing the Good News, or through Bible study alone. The gospel message is that God, in His grace, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life on earth as fully God and fully man. Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we would not have to pay the penalty for them. Our response to the Lord’s unmerited favor is to accept His Son as our personal Lord and Savior, encapsulated in…

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9

Reviewing the process above, sadly, it becomes evident that few…

“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. - Matthew 7:13-14

The “narrow gate” in the illustration is the path to Heaven through Christ. The “wide gate” is the path to Hell. It is deeply sad to know that so many will miss even considering the most important decision in life… what to do about God.

Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: “ ‘You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive. - Matthew 13:14

So many will miss the opportunity because, even if they see a Creator in the world around them, they will “never understand” and “never perceive.” As you reflect on all this, consider… God loves you and desires a relationship with you. Seek Him and His Bible today.
