Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – One can read the hot link to the Babylon Bee for their version of the list of most “helpful” ideas congregants offer to the church staff to improve the worship experience.

Many church members and especially attenders have their own opinions of how to improve Sunday morning, how to increase attendance, how to encourage the 80% who do little volunteering, how to fix children’s church, how to improve the acoustics and the music … and on and on.

We so easily forget that church is first and foremost a place to worship God, not satisfy our personal and often competing desires. What would Jesus say if He could read our minds on a Sunday morning or at a meeting of the Outreach Committee? Well, He can read our minds during those and all other times.

As you consider how to “fix” the church you attend, consider how Christ shed His blood so that you could have the Holy Spirit in your heart and spend eternity with the Trinity in Heaven. The color of the carpet should pale in significance under that bright light.
