Providing straightforward analysis on the intersection of contemporary issues and theology, based on a Biblical Christian Worldview.

“We can love people too much….”

"we can love people more than Christ.”

A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – How would it be possible to love people “too much?” One answer is when we choose to resist God when He calls us to speak truth to someone, in order not to offend them or break fellowship.

There are times in our lives when we “love our neighbor” by serving them, while God is pricking our heart to admonish instead. Of course, there is always the plank in our eye as we challenge others regarding their speck (Matthew 7:3-5).

1 Samuel 15:22 – But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.”

God wants us to obey Him more than sacrifice to Him, and to our neighbor. In prayer, we need to listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit in order to discern what our approach should be toward others … expressing loving grace, loving admonition, or a combination of both.
