Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – Why do Mormon (LDS) young men spend two years of their lives going door-to-door spreading their false theology?
There is only one religion in the world that does not rely on a works-based theology for a better afterlife … Christianity.
Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
For Mormons, “Godhood” and “Celestial Heaven” is available only to those who have both faith and perform a series of “works.” There is no such thing as eternal security in the Mormon faith since maintenance of salvation requires acts of obedience after initial conversion. This includes participation in temple rituals and obedience to its “laws of the gospel.” Further, they place the Book of Mormon on equal footing with the Bible.
Other heretical views include a belief in three different levels and locations of heaven, that God was once a man, that the Trinity is made up of three distinct gods, and that there are many thousands of other gods as well. Further, that Adam’s fall was a positive event since he became mortal, a necessary step to godhood.
