Disgruntled Churchgoers Hold Up Protest Paddles

To learn how to draw near to God!

Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – Imagine looking out over the congregation and seeing paddles go up when those in the congregation believe heresies and lies are being preached from the pulpit. Sadly, for many liberal churches across the country, that might not be such a bad thing. Perhaps even more sad is the reality that too many congregants would not know heresy if it hit them in the head. America is showing signs of leveling off on the percentage of those who call themselves “Christians” (62-64%), this from a high of 78% in 2007 (details here). However, what is behind the numbers in terms of the understanding of what a Christian is, continues to deteriorate. Among those who call themselves Christian, the following confirms a loss of what it means to be a Christian (details here). From 2007 to 2023-24 …

  • Daily prayer has continued to decline from 58% in 2007 to 44%.
  • A belief in God has declined from 80% to 73% … yes, this is “among US Christians.”

As the term “Christian” becomes more fluid, we use the term “Biblical Christian” to define traditional Christianity.
