Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – The point is that every human on earth has some form of religious worldview. The term “religion” is defined by Webster as …
“A personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices.”
Atheists believe there is no god and agnostics believe god either doesn’t exist or is unknowable. From that point, religious beliefs explode into fragments of theology like a hand grenade. There are those who believe in a Mother Earth as god, those who believe they have been reincarnated hundreds or thousands of times, even those who believe we come from aliens.
Humanity is forced to have “religion” because we all desire to understand both our past and our future. Since science can’t definitively answer either question (where did the big bang “dot” originally come from and where do we go when we die), we are left with our human imagination and/or our faith in an external, supernatural designer. Many refer to that creator as a god. Biblical Christians refer to the Creator as The God, as presented in the most popular Book ever published, the Bible.
