Providing straightforward analysis on the intersection of contemporary issues and theology, based on a Biblical Christian Worldview.

Why is there no Internet in hell?

Because there’s no connection to the Lord!

Theology on the Lighter Side – Why are there no WiFi signals in hell? – Because there’s no connection to the Lord!

These “jokes” come from various sources. I use them, not so much because they are funny, but as a basis for offering thoughts from a Biblical Christian worldview.

There is nothing funny about Hell and an eternal separation from God.

Luke 16:22-23 - The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.

This “punishment” is described in many ways in Scripture, but one thing is clear, it is a place for those separated from God …

2 Thessalonians 1:9 - They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.
Psalm 6:8a - Depart from me, all you workers of evil ...

Many theologians have attempted to describe what Hell will be like. Further, books have been written on the near death experiences (NDE’s) of those who have been pronounced dead but returned a short time later to life. The truth is, that beyond passages in the Bible that depict a burning heat from fire, juxtaposed against eternal darkness, what is clear is that it will not be a place one would wish to call home.

The Lord offers us a clear solution to the reality of Hell, but one that can be exercised only while we are alive on Earth. That simple, yet profound decision is to accept God’s grace by accepting the penalty of our sin paid for by the sacrificial death of His Son. It is only by asking the Lord to forgive us of the wrong we have committed, and accepting Him as both our Savior and our Lord, that we can avoid an eternity apart from God.
