Theology on the Lighter Side – Why do Christians love baking? – Because they have the recipe for a blessed life!
The Bible offers us God’s recipe for a blessed life on Earth and an eternal life in Heaven. All we need to do is humbly submit to the Lord, accepting Christ as our Savior, and turn from our sins. So simple, yet so profound. And yet so many miss the opportunity based on pride and a refusal to acknowledge the supremacy of God.
As His ambassadors on this earth, we possess the recipe. We can choose to share the Bread of Life (John 6:35) only with other believers, safely within the walls of our theological cocoon. Or, we can be part of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20), searching for opportunities to share our faith with a lost and dying world.
Do you desire to bake for others or just for yourself?
Do you trust that your recipe will taste good if you share it with others?
If they dislike the taste, will you obey your Father over man?
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. - Matthew 10:28
