Theology on the Lighter Side – Why did the Sunday school teacher go to art class? – To learn how to draw near to God!

The process of drawing nearer to God is called sanctification. Webster defines it as, “the state of growing in divine grace as a result of Christian commitment after baptism or conversion.” Part of the outward sign of an inward conversion is the desire to learn more about God, to seek His advice (through the Holy Spirit) as we navigate our lives. As we move from drinking spiritual milk to consuming solid food (1 Corinthians 3:1-3), there should be signs of both our horizontal relationship with others and our vertical relationship with God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
