Why did Adam and Eve have the perfect marriage?

Because neither of them had in-laws!

Theology on the Lighter Side – Why did Adam and Eve have the perfect marriage? – Because neither of them had in-laws!

The first man and woman God created were Adam and Eve. And He put them in the Garden of Eden, a place of beauty and peace. However, there was already an evil presence in that place, the serpent (Satan).

Adam and Eve may not have had in-laws to challenge them and their relationship, but there was a deceiver in their midst. And, over time, his tempting, his lies, and his prompting took a pair of sinless, innocent humans and infected them with a willful rejection of God’s commands that have come down through the ages to us today.

Mankind is confronted with the inherited sin of Adam, our own destructive desires, and a tempter who has followed generation after generation, along with his evil minions. This is the legacy we have drawing us away from a loving God. However, the good news is that the Lord has made a provision for us to be relieved from that sin through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus. Christ paid the penalty for our sin, all our sin, so that we could spend eternity with Him in Heaven, a place similar to where it all started, with God walking beside Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The difference being, there will be no serpent, no demons, and no temptation, as all evil will be permanently contained in the abyss …

Revelation 20:10 - The devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
