Theology on the Lighter Side – Why are Christians always calm about eternity? – Because they [should] have everlasting peace!
If one truly believes that when they physically die they will be immediately with God and will reign with Him for eternity, peace and joy are the logical outcomes.
So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, - 2 Corinthians 5:6
If we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; - 2 Timothy 2:12
However, the world and our own sin nature continue to drag us down, fighting against the confidence we have in Christ.
For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? - Romans 7:22-24
He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” - Matthew 17:20
Praise God that our weakness can make us strong, through Christ.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9
