Theology on the Lighter Side – Who is the best babysitter in the Bible? – David—he rocked Goliath to sleep!

Of course this is the story of how young David killed Goliath, the giant Philistine, with a rock and a sling. Goliath was alleged to be somewhere between 6’9″ and 9’9″ tall, dressed in full battle armor. David, on the other hand, was assumed to be under 20 years old and relatively small of stature. He wore no protection as he faced Goliath. However, David had God as his defender, and that was all he needed.

The point is, when we go into the battle of life, all we need is God.

Deuteronomy 20:4 – For the LORD your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.

Exodus 14:14 – The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.
