What’s the best part about Heaven?

The unlimited grace period!

Theology on the Lighter Side – What’s the best part about heaven? – The unlimited grace period!

Perhaps a cute play on words, however, theologically in error. God provided grace to those willing to believe by faith in Jesus Christ. However, this was necessary so that Christ could pay the penalty for our sins committed on earth.

Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Grace is defined as, “unmerited divine assistance given to humans for their regeneration or sanctification.”

As hard as it is to imagine, Heaven will be a place where there is no sin (Revelation 21:27). Our “regeneration” will be complete and we will be fully sanctified, or set apart. Therefore, there will be no need for God’s grace. Instead, we will worship Him day and night in a place that is beyond our imagination.

Revelation 22:1-5 – Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
