What’s a Christian wife’s favorite cooking ingredient?

Thyme with her husband!

Theology on the Lighter Side – What’s a Christian wife’s favorite cooking ingredient? – Thyme with her husband!

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.

Jesus lived a perfect life and died on the cross for the sins of mankind. What greater love is there than that (John 15:13-14)? Spending time with someone is an expression of that love, whether it be one’s spouse or the Lord.

There is no question that God calls us into His service (works), but His desire is our time more than our efforts. One can apply the same principle to a marriage. As the husband, there is an implied responsibility to take care of the family … financially, morally, and spiritually. This requires a balance between priorities, which can easily get skewed toward career success and the accumulation of toys (idols) rather than time.

Divorce rates and wayward children can be an indication of husbands spending more time in career development than family development. As we look back at our lives and priorities, no one can question whether the boat or larger house was the best choice over a strong, spiritually sound Christian household. Time is truly of the essence.
