Providing straightforward analysis on the intersection of contemporary issues and theology, based on a Biblical Christian Worldview.

“We don’t have the luxury to be an agnostic.”

Agnostic - "a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (such as God) is unknown and probably unknowable."

Quote Source – Jeff Hilles

A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – So many today cop-out on the subject of religion. Is there a God or not? If there is, does He really care about me? Why are so many scientists, philosophers, and generally intelligent people so opposed to considering the concept of a Creator of the universe? Why did a loving God allow sin? Why are there so many wildly varying beliefs in God or gods in the world if He is real? How can God send people to Hell who have never even heard the name “Jesus” in their lifetime?

The list can go on and on.. why, why, why.

Why did God allow Lucifer to become Satan? Why does God allow the devil and his minions so much freedom in the world? Why did we inherit Adam’s sin nature? Why do many see the God of the Old Testament so different than the Jesus of the new? Why did God tell the Israelites to kill every man, women and child to clear the land for His people? Why are “Christians” nearly indistinguishable from non-Christians in their behavior? Why are Christians so narrow-minded on the Bible when even theologians whose career is based on its study say it is flawed. How can one believe in a loving God after reading that most go to Hell for eternity because they refuse to submit to Him?

The Problem

The problem is that each of us have to sort through all the above and more on this side of the grave. We have to decide if this God exists, if He does know and love us, and if we can trust Him to save us if we accept Him and His Son as our Lord and Savior. We don’t have the luxury of delaying that decision until we get concrete, unquestionable evidence. He did not give us that option. We can’t wait untill we get broken and have nowhere else to turn, either. Our lives on this earth can be taken any place, any time.

So, as you reflect on that baby in the manger, perhaps fully God and fully man, you have to make a choice… is it just a baby, like any other baby, or is He the Son of God who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29)? Being an agnostic, still considering your options while living your life as you wish, becomes a decision, by default, when death comes as a surprise.
