A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – As a Christian, this is not the first time you have likely heard this, or a similar quote, stated by the same folks who defend the Constitution and Bill of Rights as founded on Biblical principles.
Of course, there are an ever-increasing number of Americans who strongly differ, by pointing out some of those original authors, like Jefferson, as having a less than Biblical Christian Worldview. They see Christians as trying to force our theology into the American legal system in areas such as abortion and marriage.
Regardless of the Founders’ intentions, the reality is that the government should stay out of religion and religion should stay out of government. However, the truth is that it is extremely naive to believe that we don’t vote and participate in life through the lens of our personal worldview. That is true of Supreme Court justices, just as it is true of presidential candidates and the average Joe.
As this country moves farther and farther away from a Biblical Christian Worldview, we see the impact every day of our lives. The question is not “Who is winning the battle” but “How many more days do we have” before the Lord returns (Luke 12:35-37)?
