The darkest, most dangerous places in this country are not the streets of Chicago or the subways of New York. The Bible reminds us that we are not to fear death, but to fear the aftermath of death.
Matthew 10:28 – And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
There is only one path to eternal life with God, and that is by accepting His Son as our Savior and Lord. Our time on this earth is but a brief moment compared to eternity.
James 4:14 – yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.
Even from an eternal perspective, the most dangerous movement in America is not Satan Clubs entering our public schools (details here) or satanic displays in our public buildings (details here). Our greatest lasting danger is not agnostics or atheists preaching their retoric and vitriol on their secular views. These are all exposed for what they are. They represent the reality of each individual needing to make a personal decision to follow Christ or to reject Him.
The greatest danger to seekers looking for God are the false teachers who preach a thread of truth surrounded by a den of lies. Social media is immersed in these individuals. Of perhaps more concern are the seminaries and churches that treat God’s Word as a suggestion authored by man, not a command authored by God. The Lord calls out these charlatans and their eternal future just as clearly as He did the ultimate imprisonment of the serpent who enticed Adam and Eve.
Matthew 7:15 – Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Revelation 20:10,15 – and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever… And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
