Providing insight on the intersection of contemporary issues and theology, based on a Biblical Christian Worldview.

“Much to the dismay of many, we do have a God who hates.”

The Lord loves the sinner but hates the sin.

The Lord loves the sinner but hates the sin.

Quick Quote – Source – Jeff Hilles

A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – Many rightfully jump to verses like John 3:16 or Romans 5:8 when speaking about God and His love for us.

John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 5:8 – but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

However, God is not quite so one-dimensional. The verse in Romans above offers insight into the reality that our God is a righteous judge of man’s sin nature, since, the reason for Christ’s death is the reality that God judges our sin. Without the substitutional death of Jesus for our sins, we are destined to pay for them ourselves.

God hates man’s sin nature, which is why He sent His only Son to the cross as payment for all those who have faith to believe.

Proverbs 6:16-19 – There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
