Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – Webster’s definition of an Atheist is, “a person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any gods.” And, the definition of the word Religion is, “a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices.” Finally, the definition of Faith is, “something that is believed especially with strong conviction.”

Putting these three definitions together…. An atheist is someone who has a strong conviction built on the belief that there is no God.

Since atheists, Christians, and all of humanity are far from omniscient, or all-knowing, one can assume that the foundation of each of our worldviews is based on faith. Christians believe there is a God. Biblical Christians believe that God wrote a Book as an inerrant instruction manual for the life of the believer. The Bible is a divine document, not to be challenged, but to submissively adhere to in its core theology. Finally, atheists view the world through the lens of random environmental factors forming together over billions of years to go from an infinitesimal dot to the complexities of mankind. They can neither explain where the dot came from any more than Christians can unequivocally prove that God exists.

John 3:8 – The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.

It is human nature to try to explain the mysteries of life. Our attempt to accomplish that becomes our de facto religion.
