“I only became a ‘good’ person because…”

A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – Do we really become “good” when we are saved?

I would offer the thought that as we remain sinners after salvation, our “good” is really a reflection of the Holy Spirit in our lives, not our own nature. We should become “better” (James 2:26) as there needs to be a clear change in our lives as a direct result of salvation. However, we should not use the word “good” to describe that “heart” change, as Satan, his demons, and our own nature continue to haunt our thoughts and behavior.

Romans 3:10-12 - as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”
