Theology on the Lighter Side – How do pastors like their orange juice? With pulpit.

Is being a pastor an easy life? That often depends on the pastor. Like any other “job” that has comparatively little oversight, one can do the minimal or be so consumed that their family suffers.

While we all are under the watchful eye of the Holy Spirit, pastors, elders, and overseers are held to a higher standard. It is serious business caring for a flock of God’s children.

James 3:1 – Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.

Acts 20:28 – Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.

1 Timothy 3:2 – Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach.
