Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – Why do we think that if our church isn’t perfect we need to find another, or, worse yet, reject the institution entirely? Why do we obsess over the speck in the eyes of other members and ignore the plank in our own (Matthew 7:3-5)? What does God say about church …?
Matthew 16:18 – And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Acts 20:28 – Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
Matthew 18:20 – For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
The church, or more specifically the Biblical Christian church, is a place to fellowship, be discipled, and offer public worship to God. If your church has not been all that you expect, consider that it is a gathering place for sinners such as yourself in need of a Savior. However, if your church is not in line with core Biblical doctrine, find one that is and settle in.
