The $uicideboy$ are a New Orleans-based rap duo of cousins Ruby da Cherry (Aristos Petrou) and $crim (Scott Arcenaux Jr.).
The two formed in 2014 and named themselves based on a pact they made: become famous by the time they turned 30 or kill themselves.
Their music has been as intensely dark as their ambition.
Their first 10 EPs were all titled: Kill Your$elf (Kill Your$elf Part I through Kill Your$elf Part X).
They have proudly released songs like “Sold my Soul to Satan Waiting in Line at the Mall” and “VIVIVI” (666).
Here’s a lightly censored version of the latter:
See I worship devil s*** therefore them demons creep my mind
Lucifer keep speaking to me, triple six up on my time
Paranoid anxiety, prescriptions always fill my mouth
F*** boys keep on trying me
Now I’m bringing satan out
Candle lit séances and black witches
Them demons come and posses me now
Devil laughs and black ski masks
I’m hearing footsteps through my house [VIVIVI]
The music is heavy and disturbing.
It deals with themes like depression, aggressive violence, substance abuse, and suicidal ideation.
No wonder it’s been described as merging “hiphop with a punk and occult aesthetic fit for graveyards and clubs alike.”¹
Still Alive
It’s worked for them, at least in the sense that they are still alive. Petroup and Arcenaux Jr. are now in their mid 30’s and both very much alive.
With over 19 billion streams on Spotify alone, they can say they are officially famous.
Their hardcore hip hop style has won them legions of fans, multiple Gold and Platinum records, and a #4 spot on Billboard’s highest-grossing rap tours.²
But they didn’t find salvation in the fame.

Instead, they got deeper into darkness and drugs and depression.
They hated God.
They rapped about hating church and hating the Bible. Instead of seeking Jesus, they seemed to find solace in pursuing Satan and spit out lyrics like “Lucifer, come save me.”
They were the ultimate anti-witnesses for Jesus. Fans on Reddit threads like this one debated how much the music’s rampant God-hatred affected their own views of faith.

They both sported symbols of the inverted cross, a symbol of opposition to Christianity within certain occult traditions and satanic movements.
Arcenaux Jr. took his views to the next level, getting them permanently inked on his forehead.

It might seem hard to imagine that the two now claim Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
But it only seems that way if you don’t know Jesus.
The Boys Today
In a 2025 interview with Rapzilla, the duo talk about their newfound faith in Christ.
If you check the article, you’ll find embedded videos of them boldly sharing their faith. The same crowds who once heard them curse God are now hearing them claim Jesus.
They are unafraid and sharing their testimony on stage and in interviews.
It’s certainly different than most Christian testimonies (certainly a higher ratio of f* bombs and mf’ers than most expect!), and it’s undeniably powerful.
Here’s a portion of what Arcenaux Jr. shares in one of those videos.
- We could not fix ourselves. We tried over, and over, and over, and over. And every time we did it got worse, and worse, and worse, and worse.
- So it was finally at that point when we shut the f*** up. We got humble. And we f***** got the help that we desperately needed. We finally allowed people to help us out. We sought the help that we needed.
- So we got the help that we needed. And I can’t sit here and talk to you guys about this without giving God credit (points up to the sky). I have to give God credit. I have to give God all the credit.
- The God that we used to make fun of. The God that we used to mock. The God that we used to ridicule still found it in His heart to f***** save m*********** like me and him.
- So I have to give God credit. I have to show my gratitude to God. Thank you so much, Lord. Thank you so much. [rapzilla.com]
Amen.
Can the $uicideboy$ Help Lead Others to Christ?
Jesus is the Shepherd who leaves the 99 in order to save the one who is lost.
Jesus is the Savior who used a murderer like Paul as His witness throughout the Roman Empire.
He knows that the duo had previously helped lead fans down a path to spiritual darkness. (Like this fan below, who seems to have had an encounter with the demonic through their music and psychedelic drugs.)

Now, they are on a different path, and they know they have a platform they can use to shine a light.
Here’s Arcenaux Jr. in an interview with Billboard talking about his new routine.
“At the end of the night after every show, I take the time to talk to everyone in attendance and hope to help one person.” [billboard.com]
They have millions of fans. Now, these fans will have to wrestle with understanding how such a massive change came about. We can pray that many will now follow the same path and claim Christ.
Talk about redemption.
Hope in the Redeemer
Jesus knows everything you have ever done. He knows everything you’re ashamed of.
He still calls you.
He invites you today. He has never been waiting for you to get it together on your own. He’s waiting for you to recognize that you need Him.
He can take all the garbage in your life and turn it around for your good and His glory. Just like Arcenaux Jr. changing the lyrics of certain songs during their performances.
Instead of calling out to Lucifer, he now raps, “Jesus Christ, come save me.”
The $uicideboy$ aren’t perfect. Nor are they afraid.
What a witness for those who don’t yet know Jesus…and also for those of us who say we do.
Praise God.
