Words of Wisdom from the Babylon Bee – According to Webster, Jihad is, “A holy war waged on behalf of Islam as a religious duty … A crusade for a principle or belief.”

There has been so much rhetoric over the last few years on the subject of Christian Nationalism taking over our country (details here). Perhaps it is true that America is finally in the process of resetting itself from the extremes of progressive ideology.

However, fearmongering, which ignores the true nature of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas and of course Iran (who refers to America as the “Great Satan” along with Israel as the “Little Satan”) is not the answer.

In this country, as with other democratic republics throughout the world, we have the freedom to protest PEACEFULLY the laws and actions we disagree with. That is a right that should never be taken away. But when the hyperbole reaches a level where Christians are equated with Jihadists, it becomes a ridiculous overreach that undermines the credibility of those speaking as well as those who choose to listen.
