A Biblical Christian worldview perspective – Using the contemporary use of the terms nationalism vs. patriotism (details here), Christians can rationalize their focus on issues like Nationalism to the detriment of more important topics, such as evangelism, and spiritual growth. Satan is encouraged when believers become divisive on secondary topics that hurt our testimony and distract us from loving our neighbors, regardless of their political affiliation. That is not to say that patriotism should be avoided however.
